[上海 SHANGHAI] – 09.08.2013
August 9th, Deck-FX has not one but two reasons to be cheerful. Not only is it our one year anniversary at Dada but it's also DJ Roo's birthday and what better way to celebrate these two things and the very spirit of Deck-FX than with a total Basstravaganza Blowout.
Deck-FX has always been about representing a good cross section of the underground bass scene and this party will be no different with 6 DJs from all over the world, each with one hour to showcase the bass they love so much. The lineup will be as follows:
Tourettze (USA) - Chillstep
Alta (UK) - Grime
Sugar (Russia) - Breaks
Verse@ille (South Africa) - Trap
Roo (UK) - Birthday Bass Mashup
Resinate (UK) - DnB
Birthday treats and giveaways to everyone who comes and wishes Roo a happy birthday at the DJ booth
After moving to London in 2006 and becoming a regular at the seminal club night FWD>>, Alta became inspired by the dark sounds of grime and dubstep. Shortly after he started DJing and was soon playing at clubs and parties across the capital, including at the legendary Ministry of Sound. Moving to Nanjing, China in 2011, Alta continued to push new styles of music in China and played at all of the city’s venues for underground music. In April 2012, he made his Shanghai debut opening for UK garage legend Zed Bias and relocated there permanently. He subsequently went onto work with the DJ and promotions crew Phreaktion before co-founding the club night Push and Pull to bring more exposure to the sounds of grime and jackin’.

Aka Lloyd Travis from Lincoln UK has been based in Shanghai since 2010 . With more than 12 years experience behind the decks he brings the whole scope of the drum and bass world to his sets loving nothing more than double dropping two dance floor bangers, his mixes are always on point and he is constantly updating his library to showcase the freshest, heaviest drum and bass soundz.

DJ Roo has been a regular fixture on the Shanghai scene now since 2011, hailing from London England where he made a name for himself for hi-energy bass heavy sets that saw him play some of the countries top venues.
Arriving in Shanghai in 2010 he soon found himself drawn to the cities vibrant underground scene and quickly getting to know the players involved. 2011 he decided to be actively involved, working as event manager and music director, consulting for different venues in Shanghai while regularly running nights of electrohouse, techno and drum n bass. Having played a key role in the production of large-scale events with Chinas MIDI Festival, City Moments and the Ice Cream Truck, this level of involvement has seen him play at many popular nights and events at The Shelter, DADA, Lune, Mao Livehouse, Amber Room, Logo, MIDI, Amber, Shiva, G+ amongst others. His Deck Efx promotion is still going strong and 2013 has seen Roo performing across china with recent bookings in Changsha, Suzhou, Kunming and Tianjin.
With each set that he plays featuring music of all different colors and flavors, refusing to be pigeonholed to a single genre or style, a fundamental philosophy is expressed: that of being free to enjoy yourself in the here and now; that on the Dancefloor you can be who you want and no one can take that from you... and it is this philosophy that he carries with him to every single gig.
